Blog update did not go well
I recently upgraded the blog and an awful lot of things did not go well. At this point everything seems to be working. I have a new theme for the blog that is not fixed width. Fixed width sites are extremely annoying, so this makes me happy. I didn’t design it and only made the tiniest of changes, so I can’t take any of the credit. I believe the theme is called Aqueous Lite.
All of the comments were lost, so I apologize to those of you who were nice enough to leave comments. A number of the posts were lost too including a number of drafts that I hadn’t yet published.

No worries. I still like this site for the concise, clear and sane tutorials on DirectX 9 C++ programming, regardless of whether or not your blog is going up and down faster than…a pogo stick. Shame there aren’t any more tutorials, really, because yours are pretty much the only half-up-to-date decent ones I know of or have ever learned anything from. Yes, I do like my tutorials.

Believe me, this last update was not one I wanted to do! Unfortunately that version of Wordpress had a number of security flaws. I briefly considered looking for something new, but that would have ended up being even more of a time sink. Barring any additional security issues, this should be that last upgrade for a very long time.
I’m working on rearranging commitments to allow me time to create more tutorials. We’ll have to see how it goes.

Drunken Hyena, your name is awesome!
I’ve been an OpenGL man for a long time, and have recently given in and admited that on a windows environment, it is nearly pointless to use.
I was a big fan od NeHe tutorials for GL but was saddened after moving to directx that there didn’t seem to be an equivelant site.
Then, I found your site!
Very clear and concise tutorials on Directx…in just 2 days from using your tutorials as a guide (and the important and hard to learn lessons such as how to properly handle volatile resources), I have enough to start making a game!
It really would be neat though if there were some more advanced topics covered like how to write shaders and neat effects etc. That would truly be cool.
Thanks for what you have put up though, I put my money where my mouth was an donated so thanks again (:
